CLASS DESCRIPTIONS FOR JULY,AUGUST,SEPTEMBER

Buck-a-Block - July is the last month for Thangles Series 6.  The finishing kits can be picked up when you finish your last block.  The finishing kit is $64.99 and includes the 2.0 thanglesneeded.  We also have wide backing or choose from our 44" fabrics to back and bind the quilt.  Series 7 starts October 1st, so sign up so we can get the fabric ordered.

Basic Hand Quilting - If you want to learn to hand quilt, this is the class for you.  Bev has been teaching hand quilting for many years.  YOU will learn piecing, applique, trapunto and quilting.  When finished you will have a wall hanging.         Class dates are July8,15,22,29,Aug 5,12 from 1:30-3pm.  Instructor: Beverly Wilson     Class Fee: $55.  Kit Fee: $30 (includes fabric, thread and needles.

Longarm Machine Classes - Come in and take a 3-4 hour class and you will be able to quilt your own quilts.  Class dates: July 12,26  Aug 9,23  Sept 20, Monday 11-3.  Class fee: $75.   After taking this class you will be able to rent the LA. Rental fee: $15/hr.  Instructor: Gertie Ruyle

Basic Machine Quilting - You can sew, but you've never tried quilting and would like to learn.  This is the class for learning beginning machine quilting-from learning to use the ruler, mat and rotary cutter, to making and binding the quilt.  Classes are offered on Saturday morning or Tuesday evening.  Dates are July 10,24  Aug 7,21 Sept 4,18 from 10-12;  July13,27  Aug 10,24  Sept 7,21  from 6:30-8:30.  Class Fee: $55    Kit fee: $35 (includes Alex Anderson book).  Instructor: Cindy Saylor.

Bed Runner - Be the first one to have a runner on your bed.  Choose from our new book, Bed Runner - Using Precut Fabrics, with 10 designs.  Make one for your children, grandchildren, friends,  and yourself.  They make great gifts for birthdays, showers or Christmas.  Class:  Saturday, July 17th   10-4.  Fee: $25   Kit fee determined by which runner you choose to make.  Must purchase book ($7.95).

Sewing for Babies - You always need gifts for new babies, whether they are your new grandchildren or for shower gifts for family and friends.  Join us and create some new bibs, burp pads or decorate some onesies for a special girl or boy.  Class:  Tuesday, July 20th  11-2.  Fee: $10 + cost of kit chosen. 

Summer Sewing Days - Are you stumped on how to finish a project?  Do you enjoy sewing with others and in a group?  Do you have UFO's?   If so, join us for a day of sewing.  One of us will be available if you need help.  Dates: July 23. Aug 20, Sept 25;  10am-4pm.  Class Fee: $10.  Bring a sack lunch.  Advance registration required.

Painting on Fabric - Saturday, July 31  we'll have a demonstration about fabric painting.  See what you can do on any type of fabric.  We have all the paints, inks, mediums, brushes, etc.  Demo starting at 11:00.  Classes begin Aug 19.  Dates and time are Aug 19, Sept 2, 16, 30 from 1:30-3pm.  Fee: $40 + supplies.  Instructor:  Beverly Wilson.

Charity Sewing Days - We are participating in the One Million Pillowcase Challenge.  They will stay in our local communities.  If you would like to participate in this event, come join in the fun and fellowship.  We'll have kits to sew, or if you have any fabric you woulf like to donate, we need 3/4 yd for body, 1/3 yd for cuff, 1/8 yd for trim.  Sewing date:  Friday, Aug 13th  10am-4pm.

Christmas in July - Our Christmas fabrics are all wrapped up, the tree is decorated, the cookies are baked;  just waiting for the presents to be opened.  Come in and help open the presents.  July 24th  1pm.  Refreshments served.

Beginning Hand Applique - You're going to enjoy the world of portability this technique offers.  You'll learn the basics of needle turn applique, curves, points, stems and circles done the invisible stitch way.  Saturday  Aug 28   11-3.  Class Fee: $15.

Beginning Hand Embroidery - Youth age 7+.  Bring your children and grandchildren to learn the age old handcraft of embroidery.  This could be a project for 4-H.  They will meet the first 2 Saturdays in August before school starts and again later in the fall.  Saturday  Aug 7 and 14    1-3.  Class fee: $20 + supplies.  Instructor:  Aunt Dee.

Fuse Like Mckenna - Whether you're new at fusible applique or a seasoned fuser, come join us as we put together your choice of McKenna Ryan's roosters, flowers or goat.  Kits are available for all of these.  Class fee: $10 + cost of supplies.   Saturday, Sept 18th   1-4.   Instructor:  Cindy

American Beauty BOM - Marti Michell's beautiful quilt in 2 color ways - black or white.  Finished size 85" x 105".  Made with Wild Rose fabric designed by Marti for Maywood Fabrics.  If you cannot attend, you may pick up your block or we can mail it to you.  Paper trmplates included with pattern or we have the acrylic ruler and template sets.  #8173-Lg Diagonal Set Triangle Ruler #8455-Sashing Star Template Set (3 pieces) #8406-7-Patch Block Template Set L (6 pieces).  Class date: Sat Sept 11, the 2nd Sat of each month thru Aug 2011.  Monthly fee: $25.  We request 1 month advance payment or a credit card # without exception.

Rapid Fire Hunters Star - Come and learn to use the amazing rulers for a fast way to make the Hunters Star.  Cindy will have all of the rulers and the pattern to make this georgous star.  Class date: Saturday, Sept 4  1-4pm  Class fee: $15 + cost of supplies.  Instructor: Cindy
