In 2006 my partner Gertie and I began building our dream of someday opening a Quilt Shop. Some place that we could go to everyday and meet people, play with fabric, make beautiful quilts and oh yeah QUIT our DAY JOBS. Step one: is of course to build a business plan. Step two: go to bank and get money needed to open the grandest of Quilt Shops; Step three: find a wonderful location that was almost rent-free that needed no revamping for our dream shop. Step four: buy every piece of fabric that took our fancy, cute notions, handy tools, exciting patterns and books. Step five: have a Grand Opening that makes so much money we can pay back the helpful bankers after the first month. Step six: spend every day to the end of time frolicking through fabric.
